Worldwide Award Winning Photography
Photography is a plural universe composed of professionals with various levels and capacities. An important way to ascertain the competence of photographers, in general, is to analyze their performance in contests and photographic challenges. Gurushots is the largest photography competition website on the internet. Hundreds of thousands of photographers from around the world participate in Gurushot challenges.Each regular challenge has a unique theme and up to four images may be submitted by each photographer. Players in each challenge then vote for photos they consider to be the best from a random set of photos participating in the challenge. The winner is decided according to the biggest number of votes achieved by the end of the challenge. This process will last from 7 to 21 days. In another type of challenge, called "speed", only one photo is sent and the voting time is 3 to 4 days. Each challenge has an average of 10-20,000 participants but in exceptional cases, this number may rise to above 150,000. As long as a photographer participates and qualifies in the challenges, they climb levels of excellence until they attain the highest level of Guru. To reach such a level, among other requirements, the photographer must win at least one of the challenges. This is an extremely difficult task, given the number of players and the degree of photographic skills required to win a challenge. I have participated in these challenges since September 2016. Below is a list of my highest achievements in these photographic challenges.
I had the privilege and joy to participate in some of these challenges achieving the top place title 163 times. They were:
★ 72 times as TOP PHOTOGRAPHER
★ 91 times as TOP PHOTO
These competitions were often difficult, with high demands, having my work compared to the outstanding presentations of so many photographers from all over the globe. Lots of strategic planning, adrenaline and excitement were involved in all these challenging journeys. However, I am humbled by my success on this platform: I now have more than 18,000 international photographers as followers.
Due to the appreciation of my work in "People photography" I am currently among the 5 top award-winning photographers in the Americas and among the top 20 in the world.
In the specific theme of PORTRAITS and Photos of people, my work has the largest number of awards of all participants on the GS platform.
Even though I have tested my skills in challenges with various themes, my focus was on exploring the characteristics of the human being from a photojournalistic point of view: I endeavoured to capture emotion at its apex. Challenges like: "The Big Smile", "Age vs. Youth", "Candid Photograph", "Wedding Emotions" and "Mothers" clearly show my passion and ability in capturing the emotive. Further, while the very human focus of the above was on joy and deep emotion, challenges like "Loneliness" and "The essence of pain" emphasized the flip side of humanity: dark sadness. The cinematic look is a strong characteristic of my work and it was highly successful in the "Movie Scenes" and "Film Noir" challenges.
"Photojournalism" and "Urban Scenery" were very important competitions where I managed to successfully highlight my passion for street photography. In my career as a photographer, I have photographed hundreds of musical shows. My successful photos of musical themes can also be seen in these awards. Participating in these contests greatly improved my photographic skills and techniques by challenging me to always do better. This new level resulted in outstanding achievements in portraiture themed competitions like "Portrait Photographer of the Year" and "Memorable Portraits". In sum, I am most grateful and honoured to share my accomplishments with you and I hope you gain some enjoyment from my portfolio.

Um caminho importante para averiguar a competência dos fotógrafos em geral é analisar seu desempenho em concursos e desafios fotográficos. Gurushots é o maior site de desafios fotográficos existente na internet. Nele participam centenas de milhares de fotógrafos de todo o mundo. Normalmente, cada fotógrafo envia 4 de suas melhores fotos para um dado tema. Posteriormente, os demais fotógrafos dão seus votos a partir de um painel aleatório. Ao final de um período que pode variar entre 7 a 21 dias, o conjunto das 4 fotos mais votadas alcança a vitória final. Em outro tipo de challenge, chamado de "speed", apenas uma foto é enviada e o perído de votação é de 3 a 4 dias. A participação em cada challenge varia entre 10 a 20 mil fotógrafos, mas já ocorreram challenges com mais de 150 mil fotógrafos. Na medida em que o fotógrafo vai participando e se qualificando nas disputas, ele vai galgando níveis de excelência até atingir o patamar mais elevado que é o de GURU. Para atingir tal nível, dentre outros requisitos, é necessário que o fotógrafo chegue em primeiro lugar em um dos desafios. Trata-se de uma missão extremamente difícil. Eu tenho participado destes desafios desde setembro de 2016. Neste post, elencarei algumas de minhas conquistas nesta série de "challenges" fotográficos.

Eu tive a felicidade e a honra de ficar em primeiro lugar internacionalmente por 163 vezes. Foram:

As competições foram sempre muito acirradas. Foram verdadeiras batalhas nas quais me defrontei com excelentes trabalhos e fotógrafos de vários países. Adrenalina, planejamento, estratégia e muita emoção envolvidos em todas estas caminhadas. Este sucesso fez com que eu tenha mais de 18 mil fotógrafos internacionais como meus seguidores nesta plataforma.
Devido ao meu trabalho nesta linha de abordagem sobre a "fotografia de pessoas", eu me encontro atualmente entre os Top5 fotógrafos mais premiados das Américas e entre os Top20 de todo o mundo, sendo o melhor brasileiro colocado.
Na área específica de RETRATOS e fotos de pessoas, meu trabalho conquistou o maior número de premiações dentre todos participantes desta plataforma.
Como poderá perceber, meu principal foco de trabalho é o registro do ser humano, notadamente a partir de um olhar fotojornalístico voltado para a captação da emoção em seu ápice. "The Big Smile", "Age vs Youth", "Candid Photograph", "Wedding Emotions" e também o challenge "Mothers" mostram claramente esta tendência na captação do emotivo. Se a alegria e o profundo afeto podem ser encontrados nestes challenges, o registro sentimental pode também ser visto em sua face mais triste e sombria através dos desafios "Loneliness" e "The essence of pain". Há também nestes trabalhos uma forte influência da fotografia de cinema, como poderão acompanhar nos challenges "Movie Scenes" e "Film Noir". A fotografia de rua, uma de minhas paixões poderá ser vista no "Urban Scenery" e no importantíssimo challenge de "Photojournalism".
Em minha carreira como fotógrafo, fotografei centenas de shows musicais. Fotografias ligadas ao tema musical poderão também ser vistas nestas premiações. Por fim, temos a atividade com os retratos, ofício muito aperfeiçoado pelas próprias disputas nos challenges. Destaco nestes o meu primeiro challenge conquistado "Beards and Mustaches", bem como os disputadíssimos "Portrait Photographer of the Year" e o "Memorable Portraits". I managed to achieve a winning victory for every 25 challenges in which I participated. In addition, overall, I achieved Top10 photographer status in an incredible 978 opportunities. This translates as being a Top10 photographer in one of every 4,2 challenges in which I participated. I was also successful in placing myself in the Top100 photographers in more than seventy percent of the challenges in which I participated (2,958 times in the Top100 out of a total of 4,169 challenges).

Nessa toada, consegui ficar entre os 10 melhores em um de cada 4,2 challenges que participei. Tive também sucesso em me colocar entre os 100 primeiros colocados em mais de setenta por cento dos desafios participados (2.958 vezes top100 de um total de 4.169).
